Crab Island is a submerged sandbar in the Choctawhatchee Bay by the Destin Bridge on 98. Crab Island is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Thousands of people head to Crab Island every year. You can bring your own boat or rent one. Also, there is a Crab Island taxi available. Food is available out there as well as some bouncy water things. Definitely, a “biggie” on the must-do list for Destin.
Harbor Walk
HarborWalk Village is a fun place for the whole family. Shops, restaurants, zipline and so much more. There are events scheduled year-round from concerts, dance parties, and fireworks (to name a few). Also, don’t miss the most important part, the boats. There are hundreds of boats docked up and down the boardwalk. Sometimes you can even see their day’s catch! Always something happening here.
Private Fishing Charters
There are tons of charters to choose from, and everyone has their favorites. Charters range from 4 to 10 hours. They offer deep sea and shark fishing. Some even offer kid charters. Prices and amenities may differ from company to company.
Shake’s
Frozen Custard. Rich and creamy custard. They offer sundaes, splits, shakes, and concretes. Best you’ll ever taste!

Private dolphin excursions are a bit pricey but it’ll only be you and the ones you love. Different companies have different price points and options.
Wave Runners
Wave Runners are a ton of fun. Many companies to choose from. Make sure to look for coupons online as well. Rentals by the hour, 3 or 4 hours or full day. Usually 2 people per jet ski. Be sure to take lots of sunblock!
Parasailing
Not for the weak of heart. Boats will pull you up 400 feet in the air. You can look down into the clear, emerald Destin waters. Look for coupons online. Sometimes you can get a BOGO.

Seafood Dinner on the Beach
Destin is called the “Luckiest Fishing Village” for a reason. There is so much great seafood here. Most places on the beach don’t accept reservations, but don’t let that deter you. Even if you have an extended wait time. Fresh gulf shrimp, grouper, and oysters – it doesn’t get any better than Destin.
Snorkeling at the Jetties
Both kids and adults will love this one. Book a snorkeling tour. The algae-covered rocks are the perfect spot for fish to feed. Don’t be surprised if you see a pufferfish or sheepshead!
Helicopter Rides

Ok, this one probably sounds weird. When you go to the beach on vacation, going to a water park is not on your radar. But, this water park seems to be one of the top attractions for tweens and teens when visiting Destin. Be a cool parent and check it out!

Wanting your own boat to take to Crab Island? There are tons of options when it comes to renting pontoon boats. They can accommodate small to large groups. Some even come with slides. There are pet-friendly companies, as well.
Fireworks cruise
Almost everyone loves fireworks. Imagine how beautiful they would be watching from the water with unobstructed views. Fireworks cruises take place every Thursday night (weather permitting) in the summertime.
